Dinner
Tonight's dinner began with a course of curly fries and a corn dog. The fries were the highlight of this meal as they were both crunchy and curly, a good combination. The fries seemed to be slightly overcooked but with the signature sauce I was using (ketchup&mayo) the overall effect was refreshing. The corn dog, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The breading lacked sweetness and the sauce was not nearly as effective as it was with the french fries.
The second course consisted of meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The meat loaf was alright overall, providing a sweet flavor to the dish, but it was not congealed and fell apart quickly. The mashed potatoes were frankly incredible. A nice surprise was the cheese and bacon layered into the potatoes with real potato skin for authenticity. A savory complement to the meat.
Finally, a chocolate chip cookie was the desert of choice tonight. It was a nice mixture of soft and chewy with a good amount of sweetness.
